| Comments: | Barely a year after the World Health Organisation had declared Uganda polio free; on October 20th polio case was confirmed in Bugiri district, Eastern Uganda. A 2 year old child developed paralysis and 100 samples taken from the same area were positive for wild polio virus type 1 .Tests of samples done in South Africa found the virus to have been imported from the Turkana area in Kenya. |
